OPQ / ANN Agreement

We are pleased to inform you of an agreement between the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and the Association nationale des naturopathes (ANN) regarding services that can be offered in accordance with the provisions of Bill 21 by hypnosis practitioners who are neither psychologists, nor physicians, nor holders of a psychotherapist’s permit. This agreement, initially negotiated between the OPQ and the EFPHQ, was ratified in July 2015. The ANN is proud to have collaborated with the EFPHQ on this project.

People practicing this discipline will now have clear information about their practice and will be able to follow the OPQ guidelines to make the most of their knowledge.

The agreement clearly defines the limits of practitioners who are not psychotherapists and is not limited to words. It encompasses the entire practice and any person who practices psychotherapy illegally will be sanctioned by the OPQ and will have their membership in the ANN revoked. Hypnotherapy still holds a special place and all ANN members practicing this technique must practice it according to the standards established by the OPQ.
