ANN | Association nationale des naturopathes
Thank you for your interest in the National Association of Naturopaths (NAN).
To join, you must follow these steps:
- Have completed 1000 hours of training recognized by the NAN*
*Please note: The Association reserves the right to require entrance exams based on the applications submitted. Although the practice of yoga, tai chi, Pilates or other similar disciplines are beneficial for health, the hours of learning these disciplines are not taken into account in the applicants' training hours.
Following acceptance, all NAN members must accumulate 25 hours of courses over a period of 3 consecutive years to continue to benefit from NAN advantages.
- Read, understand and accept the code of ethics.
- Prepare a PDF version of your diplomas, certificates and attestations, as well as a scanned version of a photo ID in PDF, JPEG or PNG format.
- Prepare your payment method to pay the membership fees that will be requested during the process.
- Complete the online membership application, which will ask you, among other things, to provide the documents mentioned above and to pay the membership fees.

A period of 15 working days is usually necessary to study a file. Following your acceptance, you will receive a complete file, i.e. a tablet of numbered electronic receipts, for claims with your clients' insurers, file-keeping forms and a certificate of membership that will be sent to you by mail.
Once you have obtained your NAN membership number, it is strongly suggested that you subscribe to professional liability insurance. You can do this with our partner ESSOR (online membership). Don’t forget to send us your policy number afterwards so that we can add it to your file.
For the sake of rigor and transparency, the ANN reserves the right to carry out checks (impromptuly, at any time and at its convenience) of the location, facilities and tools used by its members in order to ensure that the NAN's standards of practice are respected and meet all of its quality criteria in terms of support for its members' customers. NAN receipts are numbered and cannot be reproduced or reused in order to avoid any fraud. In order to ensure the professionalism of NAN members, their visibility is subject to the guidelines imposed by the laws in force in the province of practice and in accordance with the practice of natural therapeutic care for which the NAN member has been admitted.
In addition to being represented by a recognized association, members benefit from numerous advantages and services essential to their practice.

Natural Medicines databases from TRC Healthcare
TRC Healthcare is known for, among other things, its Natural Medicines service. This unique resource is updated daily and brings together over 1,400 natural ingredient and alternative therapy monographs and over 185,000 commercial products organized in convenient, easy-to-search databases. NAN members can access it free of charge to help them make informed decisions based on evidence and science. A value of nearly $235 per year (USD $182)!
Recognition by insurance companies
The benefits and advantages of a naturopathic approach to maintaining and improving health have been demonstrated many times and the receipts issued by NAN members are recognized and accepted by all group and private insurance companies*.
* The beneficiary must still validate with their manager to ensure that naturopathy services are included in their protection plan.
Professional insurance
ANN members must subscribe to professional liability insurance and have access to other insurance products specially designed for them via our partner ESSOR (online application).
Referral Service
NAN members benefit from a referral system. We are happy to redirect customer calls and requests to naturopaths located closest to their place of residence or work.
Displaying your school on our site
We offer a list of schools and training centers accredited by the NAN. If you run a school or offer training, you can request to be added.
Visibility and participation on our blog
The "Billboard" section of our site offers many articles and a wealth of useful information that attracts customers interested in naturopathy and related services. NAN members have the opportunity to increase their visibility by publishing an article, news or announcement for free.
Choosing your career, or changing your professional direction, is probably one of the most important decisions you will make in your life and there are many schools and educational institutions where you can learn your new profession.
Since you will spend a lot of time in class practicing and developing your skills and knowledge, it is important to choose an institution that will meet your expectations and facilitate your progress.
Here you will find a list of schools and training centers accredited by the NAN. We recommend that you visit their website and call to find out, among other things, about the different programs offered, continuing education courses, schedules, payment methods, teacher qualifications, student services and certified training offered. Before making a final choice, do not hesitate to visit the premises to check the location, layout, cleanliness and condition of the equipment.
If you cannot find the school you are looking for, write to us, a school could be in the process of accreditation or not be on the list.
It should be noted that the NAN is independent of the schools and that they had to have the content of their courses accredited to be included in our list.
